Hey, I’m Markus — welcome to Trading as a Newbie.
If you’ve spent any time searching for trading advice online, you’ve likely seen the same pattern: flashy screenshots of green profit days, luxury sports cars, and promises of financial freedom in 30 days.
This website exists to offer the exact opposite: a realistic, no-nonsense look at what learning to trade actually takes.
Why I Started This Project
Like many retail traders, I didn’t come from Wall Street. I started exploring the financial markets out of genuine curiosity — analyzing stocks, understanding market mechanics, and wanting to take control of my own capital.
Along the way, I learned the lessons that most beginner courses never talk about:
- Markets don’t reward effort; they reward discipline. You can spend 40 hours analyzing a chart and still lose money if the market disagrees.
- Psychology is 80% of the game. Managing FOMO (fear of missing out), stopping yourself from revenge-trading, and executing a stop-loss without hesitation are much harder than drawing trendlines.
- Capital preservation comes first. If you don’t know how to protect your downside, a few bad days can wipe out months of progress.
I created Trading as a Newbie to build the resource I wish I had when I placed my first order: an honest hub focused on practical risk management, clear frameworks, and transparent trade reviews.
My Core Philosophy
- Risk First, Profits Second: Before entering any setup, the first question is always: “Where is my invalidation point, and how much am I risking?”
- No Signals, Just Frameworks: I don’t sell trading signals or tell anyone what to buy. The goal is to provide the educational foundation so you can make your own informed decisions.
- Radical Transparency: In the trading blog, I share both winning setups and losing trades. The post-mortem analysis of mistakes is where real improvement happens.
